"If all the uninsured children in Sonoma County were gathered in one place, they would become the county's seventh-largest city." - Mary Maddux-González, MD, Sonoma County Public Health Officer
You can give a child health care.
Healthy Kids Sonoma County is a community-wide initiative to create a system of accessible, affordable health care and coverage for all Sonoma County children.
Did you know there are 3,000 children in Sonoma County without health insurance? And that 90% of uninsured children are from homes where one or both parents work?
Regular access to primary care assures annual screenings and immunizations, decreases expensive emergency room treatment, and lowers costs for employers and taxpayers.
Would you like to help Healthy Kids promote good health and well-being for children in Sonoma County? For $100 a month, you can sponsor a child and provide them with the health care they need. Simply donate through our Healthy Kids Community Partner United Way. Your gift is fully tax deductible as a charitable contribution.
Health insurance for all children is an achievable vision and one to which we all can contribute. Investing in the health of our children fosters a stronger economy and a more productive workforce.
Become a Volunteer Healthcare Provider
The Healthy Kids program coordinates Kids' Net, a network of over 125 volunteer physicians, dentists, pharmacies, specialty and diagnostic service providers that provide free medical and dental care to low income, uninsured children who need to be seen immediately when they are sick or in pain. This service is only possible through the extraordinary contribution of time and services from the volunteer providers in our community.
